Born in Chicago, Dr. Jorge Aguilar has been a proud resident of New Orleans since 1977. After graduating from Tulane in 1983, Dr. Aguilar received his dental degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1987. He was then accepted to a two-year, hospital-based residency, where he obtained advanced training in oral surgery, implant dentistry, intravenous sedation, comprehensive rehabilitation, and restorative dentistry. In 1995, Dr. Aguilar received advanced surgical implant training through the University of Miami School of Medicine. He continued his implant training by completing the Surgical Program at The Misch International Implant Institute. He received acknowledgment for Advanced Education in Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, as well as Functional Anterior Esthetics (Smile Design) through the Hornbrook group at the University of Texas, Houston Dental Branch. Dr. Aguilar is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Laser Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the New Orleans Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Hispanic Dental Society. He is also a Crown Council Dentist.
Dr. Richard Bertetti was born in Andover, Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tulane University in 1996, his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University in 2003 and completed his training in Oral Surgery at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, New York in 2014. Dr. Bertetti enjoys tennis, football and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Dr. Cao grew up in the metropolitan New Orleans area. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1996. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2000. Dr. Cao resides in Covington with her husband Joe and their three children. She enjoys traveling, working out, cooking and LSU football games.
Dr. Duplechin was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 2005 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009. Dr. Duplechin resides in Mandeville and enjoys LSU and Saints football, tailgating, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Graff grew up in St. Bernard Parish in New Orleans and lived in Slidell in the early ‘90’s. He graduated Chalmette High School as valedictorian in 1996 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in microbiology with a minor in classical civilizations from LSU in 2000. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2004. After living in Mid-City New Orleans, he moved to Hammond in 2005. Dr. Graff enjoys all sports (especially LSU and Saints football), music, movies, hunting, and fishing.
Dr. Chad Gustafson was born in Metairie, Louisiana, and raised in Slidell. He graduated from Pope John Paul II High School in Slidell, then earned an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Louisiana State University. Dr. Gustafson then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kaycee, and son, Ethan. He is also an enthusiastic fan of LSU and Saints football. Dr. Gustafson is a member of the American Dental Association and Louisiana Dental Association.
A graduate of the University of New Orleans and the LSU School of Dentistry, Dr. Henry received his orthodontic specialty degree in 1984. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Southern Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Henry is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthodontics with the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He has 3 children and one grandchild.
Dr. Jenny Herman grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana. She attended West Monroe High School, then earned a Bachelors in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University. Dr. Herman received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and fishing.
Dr. Edwin Kopfler is a 1969 graduate of Loyola School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana. He served two years in the U.S. Army, as a Captain and a dentist, before starting a private practice in general dentistry. Dr. Kopfler is a firm believer in constantly improving his knowledge and skills; as a result, he received his Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 1978. In July of 1999, Dr. Kopfler received the prestigious Mastership Award. To date more than 11,000 members of the Academy of General Dentistry have become Fellows and approximately 1,000 have gone on to receive their Mastership. At this time there are very few Masters practicing in Louisiana; and in fact, only 2% of our nation’s dentists have earned this distinction. Dr. Kopfler has been a provider for Centers for Dental Medicine for 3 years, using the latest, most advanced techniques and technology for the effective treatment of gum disease (periodontal disease). He believes in “Saving Lives One Smile at a Time.” Dr. Kopfler resides in Slidell, Louisiana with his lovely wife. He has a son living in Baton Rouge and a daughter living in Mississippi with her husband, two children and one stepchild. Dr. Kopfler is an avid golfer and hunter.
Dr. Lacoste was born and raised in the New Orleans area. After graduating high school from The New Orleans Academy in 1972, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans. He then went on to receive a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 1980.
Dr. Lacoste is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the New Orleans Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He always finds time to be with family and friends, and enjoys fishing and playing music.
Dr. Matherne was born in Lockport, Louisiana, in the heart of Lafourche Parish. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of New Orleans in 1995 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry in 1998. He also performed a General Practice Residency in the United States Navy in 1999 and went on to receive his certificate in Endodontics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007. Dr. Matherne served 10 years active duty as a Navy Dental Officer, with deployments to Spain and Guam. He is a big fan of LSU and Saints football.
Dr. Erin Moore grew up in Westlake, Louisiana. She attended St. Louis Catholic High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences with a minor in Chemistry from McNeese State University. Dr. Moore is a 2018 graduate of LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where she served as the President of the American Student Dental Association. She is a member of the Louisiana Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Kristoffer Norbo is a native of Virginia and carries on a family tradition of promoting dental health as a second-generation dentist. He found his calling in pediatric dentistry after spending many years as a coach for youth hockey and volunteer for Special Olympics. Dr. Norbo’s involvement with Mission of Mercy projects showed the impact he could have on children, making dental visits fun and educational at the same time. As a pediatric dentist, his goal is to help children form positive dental habits at an early age, leading to a lifetime of oral health.
Dr. Norbo completed his undergraduate degree at Hampden-Sydney College, and then went on to Virginia Commonwealth University to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery. His post-doctoral training was completed at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he received a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and Masters in the Science of Dentistry.
Dr. Norbo is currently board-eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of many organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Dental Education, Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Political Action Committee. He has also dedicated time to Give Kids a Smile.
In his free time, Dr. Norbo enjoys playing sports, the outdoors, traveling with his fiancée, and spending time with their three dogs, Pepper, Polo, and Gracie.
Dr. Laura Porras Smith is a graduate of Universidad Latina de Costa Rica where she received her D.D.S. in 2004. She then practiced as a general dentist for 3 years in a private practice in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 2013, she worked at a periodontist practice in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was then accepted into a fellowship for 1 year at Louisiana State University where she received training restoring single and multiple dental implants with the newest techniques.
In 2014, she accepted a position in Louisiana State University’s Post-Graduate Periodontal Program which she completed in 2017. She received extensive surgical and non-surgical training for modern periodontal and dental implant therapy including periodontal plastic surgery, bone grafting, implantology and what many people refer to as “gum disease.” Dr. Laura P. Smith is also certified by the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry for proficiency in Dental Laser Surgery.

She is married, has two children, and lives Uptown in New Orleans. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, biking around the city and exploring new places and restaurants.
Dr. Smith’s philosophy
She likes to sit down with each patient and reinforce methods to prevent further oral and periodontal disease. She likes to explain to the patient the many different treatment options using the most up to date diagnostic tools available and then provide the best treatment to suit that patient’s individual needs. Her first choice is always saving natural teeth, but if that is not possible she will always present the most modern alternatives available for her patient. She likes to treat each patient as if they were a member of her own family.
Born and raised in Slidell, Dr. Wiggins is a proud lifelong resident. He is a Slidell High School graduate; he also earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the LSU School of Dentistry. He is a member of the New Orleans Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is married to Amy Hall Wiggins, and they have 2 sons, Brandt and Cole.
